The car/the steed/the chariot of glory to take us onwards to Ulaanbaatar? A large 4x4 with heated seats, cup holders and a chauffeur? Pfft, here at The Gingerbread House we prefer a granny-mobile with an engine the size of a couple pints of milk, a tiny boot, and a cassette player.
Various bizare and unsuitable vehicles can be used to complete the Mongol Rally, though cars have a limit of a 1000cc (ish) engine; Why? Well, why not?.
Fortunately the good people over at SMA Vehicle Remarketing believe in the power of gingerbread, and have offered to cater to our vehicular needs by donating a beautiful 998cc Peugeot 107. Ironically the car is the Urban edition, and is therefore ideally suited to tackle 10,000 miles in the wild.
